CLO3D DESIGN & MAKE OUTDOOR CAPSULE

Techniques: CLO3D, Illustrator, Clothes-making

Story: This is my second attempt at using to CLO3D to design then make things. You can see my first attempt on my insta @sarah_elenany. I wanted to explore the best way of using CLO3D as a design tool. That is, with no superfluous CADs and thus saving time and no superfluous 3D models (saving even more time). After much experimenting I found out it was best when the key outfit of the assortment was designed in 3D first, then the rest of the pack was quickly drawn using CADs.

The direction for the capsule was about packing light. I always pack very light when I go on a hiking holiday so the idea was having things I could use for every day wear as well as hiking. The jacket and insulator were inspired by a shirt I made last summer which was inspired by Nezuko from the exquisite anime Demon Slayer. I also like Mitsuki’s two-tone kimono from Boruto and that is reflected in the insulator.

The Jacket: is a 2.5L jacket. Designed to be fully waterproof although I have not taped the seams (difficult to do with domestic iron). It has a packable hood. It has several pockets for water bottles and snacks. I never would’ve attempted the packable hood if I didn’t have CLO helping me to visualise.

The Insulator: was lovingly manually quilted by me (almost lost my mind) with the traditional asanoha pattern to reflect the shirt. It has 2 zipped pockets and underarm ventilation.

The Shirt: I made this last summer inspired by Nezuko. I added 2 front cargo pockets for snacks for this capsule.
